FabLab

FabLab – FABrication LABoratory – is a creative, high-tech prototype workshop where you can turn ideas and projects into reality.

The goal of FabLab Vágur is to provide the public with access to digital manufacturing technologies. What was previously only available to professionals - such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines - can now be used by anyone at FabLab Vágur. We actively engage in innovation through prototyping and idea creation. In addition, we also organize workshops and smaller educational courses focusing on creation and prototyping.

FabLab offers free access to high technology for individuals, institutions, and businesses. The materials used in FabLab are chargeable, and you contribute back by teaching others to use the technology and inviting them to FabLab.

The idea behind FabLab is:

  • to enable the public to use the technology and get help with specific projects.
  • to allow for commercial activities and prototypes to potentially have copyright, but also for others to benefit from and contribute knowledge back to the network.
